Fortran Bigirimana, a respected Burundian gospel artist living in France, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first artist from the region to visit Rwanda in 2024. On January 14, 2024, Bigirimana captivated his audience with a worship and praise music-filled show at the New Life Bible Church in the Kicukiro District.

The event garnered immense popularity and appreciation from the crowd, who expressed their love for the veteran worship minister, with a career spanning two decades. Performing songs from his new album "Birakumvira," including hits like 'Araganje', 'Agano Letu', 'Jesus Christ', 'Uri Mwwa', 'Ntsi Nziza', 'Allelua Hozana' (featuring James and Daniella), 'Ndafise Mogwa', and 'Jeriko/ ni JYesu/ "I walk wide," Bigirimana left an indelible impression on the attendees. Prominent figures, including Apostle Dr Paul Gitwaza, Tonzi,Gaby Kamanzi and many others, graced the show, while Christian Irimbere's performance of 'N umbo' captivated the crowd as well. South African-based Rwandan gospel artist Gift Gadson has recently unveiled a new video song titled 'The Source,' emphasizing the theme of God being the origin of our present and future. The inspiration behind this song draws from the biblical passage in Revelations, John 21:6, which states, "And it is finished. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give him who is thirsty to drink freely from the fountain of living water." Hailing from Burundi and currently based in South Africa, Gadson expressed that these profound words guided the creation of his latest composition, "Isoko," as he believes that the Lord is the source of both our present blessings and future aspirations.

At 23 years old, Gift Gadson is not only a musical talent but also a visual artist. He is an active member of the United of Holy Spirit Church in South Africa and has been contributing to the realm of Gospel music for the past eight years. His initial foray into worship and praise music occurred in 2015, and since then, he has produced a diverse array of songs, including notable titles such as "Jerusalem," "My Life," "This World," "Ndipange Banya," and "Nyumva."

Despite residing in Capetown, Gift Gadson remains actively engaged in the Rwandan Gospel music scene, expressing his satisfaction with its progression. Diaspora Nyarwanda continues to witness the impactful contributions of individuals like Denise Uwineza, currently residing in Norway, Europe. Joining the chorus of worshippers, Denise unveiled her musical talent with the release of "You Are Beautiful Jesus," marking the first installment in a series tailored for her fans. This soulful composition carries a comforting message for Gospel enthusiasts, coupled with skillfully crafted lyrics.

Paradise.rw swiftly recognized Denise Uwineza as a rising artist, making them the first global platform to welcome her into the music scene. Karama icon wasted no time in offering the opportunity to download this spiritually uplifting song.

Denise Uwineza expressed, "You Are Beautiful Jesus is a song that I personally wrote. I aimed to convey a message of praise to God." Continuing, she shared, "It's a prayer that I hope everyone would consistently offer, seeking God's guidance and rule, for without God in our lives, we would be devoid of true life. Those sheltered in Christ need not fear."

Currently a university student, Denise is an active member of the SHALOM GILGAL PENTE (SGPC) church. Her song consistently echoes a humble acknowledgment of her limitations, despite her outwardly capable appearance. When questioned about this perspective, she explained, "I believe I can't do anything on my own, as everything I achieve is a result of Christ's grace."

Denise emphasized the challenges faced in the world, ranging from problems and trials to wars, leading to moments of despair and perceived impossibility. She reiterated, "Even when we hit rock bottom and it seems like there's no way, we must remember that Christ, through His sacrifice on the cross, granted us life. Believing in Him allows us to live, for He is capable of achieving everything." In the past three years of his musical journey, Josh Ishimwe, a Rwandan singer, has ventured beyond his familiar Kinyarwanda language with the release of his latest song, "Nakushukuru Ee Bwana," in Swahili on the afternoon of Friday, November 17, 2023. This move follows a growing trend among artists, such as Israel Mbonyi, who recognize the expanding market for Swahili music enthusiasts. Notably, Ishimwe's songs, including 'Nina Siri' and 'Nitamani,' have resonated strongly in Kenya, dominating the country's popular music charts.

Swahili, recognized as the fourth official language in Rwanda five years ago, has gained prominence. With over 200 million speakers worldwide, the February 2023 population census revealed that Swahili is spoken by approximately 2.97% of Rwanda's population.

In preparation for his performance at the "I Bweranganzo" concert by Chorale Christus Regnat on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (Camp Kigali), Ishimwe shared his motivation for singing in foreign languages. He expressed the desire to extend the reach of his message and decided to release the Swahili song as a praise to God for the upcoming event.

Explaining his creative process, He emphasized the intention to bridge cultural and linguistic boundaries, allowing even those who don't speak Rwandan to appreciate the unique traditional style of singing to God.

The artist, known for blending 'Gospel' music with Rwandan tradition, entered the music scene with a distinctive touch, gaining popularity over the past two years. Recalling his musical journey, Ishimwe began serving God through singing in the children's choir in 2000, unaware that it would evolve into a lifelong profession. Now 24 years old, he has honed his talent through various artist collaborations, including the Uguru Music group, working closely with artists like Yvan Ngenzi and René Patrick.

Reflecting on his initial fears as an artist, Ishimwe acknowledged concerns about how his music would be received by fans. However, he remains committed to breaking new ground in his musical exploration and expressing gratitude for the support that has fueled his journey so far.

Umurami Nice Ndatababa, renowned for his hit song "Umbereye Maso," has successfully expanded his music internationally. His latest venture involved a collaboration with Dr. Ipyana, the artist behind "Niseme Nini" (Baba NinaKushukuru).

The recently released track, "Umeamua Kunipenda," is a creation of Canadian musician Nice Ndatababa in collaboration with Dr. Ipyana. It has gained recognition as a leading piece in the realm of worship and praise music in Tanzania.

Both artists hold significant prominence in the Gospel music scene. Nice Ndatababa's contribution to "Umbereye Maso" has garnered 6 million views, while his repertoire includes other well-received songs such as "Your Intentions," "This God of Truth," "What God Is Doing," and "You Are Above."

Dr. Ipyana, a medical doctor since 2012 who ventured into singing in 2015, gained fame with "Niseme Nini," boasting an impressive 14 million views. His notable songs include "Kama Si Mkono," "Milele na Milele," and "Moyo Mine."

The collaborative effort, "Umeamua Kunipenda," was showcased at Nice Ndatababa's concert on 09/29/2023, featuring prominent figures like Dr. Ipyana, Bosco Nshuti, Ben, Chance, and Savant Ngira.

In a Rwandan interview, Nice Ndatababa praised Dr. Ipyana as a servant of God, emphasizing the rising spiritual movement in countries like Tanzania and Kenya. He expressed gratitude for their friendship, stating, "He is my friend, and now we will be friends."

The collaborative song is deeply rooted in the Bible verse emphasizing God's unconditional love, irrespective of one's past. Nice Ndatababa stressed the message of coming to God as one is, highlighting God's love for all, urging repentance and forgiveness.

Nice Ndatababa commended the progress of Rwandan Gospel music, emphasizing the positive impact of artists' hard work in creating gospel-centered content. He acknowledged the importance of songs in foreign languages like Swahili and English.

Looking ahead, Nice Ndatababa outlined his future plans, including creating more songs, organizing concerts, and spreading the message of Jesus. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with various artists and mentioned an upcoming album, emphasizing the intention to release it to his fans in due time.

Bosco Nshuti, award-winning gospel artist and a devout worshiper in the ADEPR Church, recently unveiled the music video for his song "Mbaraga Zikiza," a heartfelt ode describing the boundless love of Jesus Christ. The track, also known as "Healing Powers," emphasizes the enduring affection of Jesus for humanity, highlighting the profound nature of His love that requires nothing in return – no silver, no gold, just a healing mercy.

In the lyrics, Nshuti calls for those who have strayed to return, urging the awakening of the spiritually dormant, the resurrection of the spiritually dead, and the rediscovery of those who are lost. Furthermore, Nshuti declared that while worldly possessions like wealth, honor, kingdom, and authority may fade away, the love of Jesus will endure indefinitely. His resolute belief in the everlasting nature of Jesus' love for His children permeates his musical expressions.

Reverend Nshuti Bosco, renowned for spreading the gospel through his musical works, passionately calls for those who are spiritually dormant or lost to return to the Lord Jesus. His message emphasizes the availability of mercy and grace, encouraging believers to embrace sanctified lives. The renowned Patmos Choir, a beloved Seventh Day Adventist Choir, is gearing up for a grand celebration of its 5-year milestone with a concert scheduled for November 25, 2023, at the Kigali Convention Center (KCC) starting at 17:00. This much-anticipated event promises an evening filled with various songs dedicated to praising God.

Preparations for this concert have been underway for more than three months, emphasizing the dedication and commitment of the Patmos Choir to deliver an unforgettable experience. In a recent media interview on October 31, choir members shared their excitement, highlighting that the event will showcase new and sacred songs that have gained international recognition for their ability to provide solace and comfort in diverse circumstances.

Beyond their musical endeavors, the Patmos Choir actively engages in charitable activities, including visiting the sick, collaborating on church construction projects, and participating in relief efforts. Reflecting on their journey, the choir's origin story is traced back to 1996 when students, originally from Congo, reunited in Rwanda after the Genocide against the Tutsis. Under the leadership of Jeannette, the choir emerged, eventually adopting the name "Patmos."

The name, suggested by Rusagara Josue, a choir member who owned a Papeterie named Patmos, holds a significant meaning. It stems from a fellow singer questioning, "We are in charge of God's work and we are in the last time of preaching about the end times. Chorale, why don't we call it Patmos? Isn't it written in the revelations?" Thus, the Patmos Choir was born, dedicated to serving God through their harmonious voices.

As the concert date approaches, the Patmos Choir extends a warm invitation to everyone to join in this beautiful evening of praise to God. Laetitia Dukunde Mulumba, a Rwandan gospel recording artist, and resident of France, recently unveiled the music video for her collaboration with Aimé Uwimana on the song 'Mu Bwiza.' This melodious piece seeks to gently nudge people to contemplate the concept of Heaven once more.

In a conversation with the media, Laetitia Mulumba revealed that this heartfelt song, 'Mu Bwiza,' was created nearly a year ago, with its video production taking place in the month of March. She candidly shared the intriguing origin of the song, stating that the idea came spontaneously. Laetitia explained, "I was at home, engaged in my usual activities when I suddenly heard a song coming to me. I started singing it, and my husband, who also happens to be the producer, was present. He inquired, 'Is that song mine?' to which I replied, 'It's mine now.' Amused by the unexpected musical inspiration, he asked me to repeat it, and that's when we decided to record it the next day, preserving it for later."

Laetitia emphasized the honor she felt working alongside a revered figure like Aimé Uwimana, a priest well-respected in Rwanda. She expressed her gratitude, saying, "It holds immense significance that a servant of God like Aimé honored my request, regardless of his stature. It's beyond me, and I don't have the words to describe it. May the Lord bless him abundantly, for he has a magnanimous heart."

Laetitia explained, "The song's message is a reminder to believers, encouraging them to reflect more on Heaven, as we sometimes appear to have lost sight of the ultimate purpose of our journey of salvation."
