Multiple reports suggest was suffering from kidney disease. Fans and fellow musicians have been paying tribute to Ghanaian gospel star

Koda, renowned both as a producer and a musician, gained fame for his inspiring compositions and his captivating, soul-stirring vocals that struck a chord with audiences nationwide. Some of his most popular songs include Hossana, Nkwaa Abodo, Nsem Pii and Adooso. The leaves behind a wife and three children.

Renowned Ghanaian gospel singer Diana Hamilton has kicked off 2024 with an exciting new collaboration. Her latest single “The Doing of the Lord” features beloved Nigerian gospel vocalist Mercy Chinwo, uniting the two stars across cultures in a bilingual celebration of their faith.

‘The Doing of the Lord’ marks Hamilton’s first release of the new year, arriving ahead of major projects in the course of the year. These include her popular annual flagship concert series “The Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton,” which draws fans from across Ghana and beyond for intimate worship.

As inspired directly by Psalm 124 – “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose against us…”, The Doing Of The Lord offers listeners the opportunity to ponder on the goodness of the Lord every day and offer a worthy thanksgiving to God daily.

True to Hamilton’s discography and thoughtful style, the new single effortlessly combines English lyrics with the Ghanaian Twi local dialect. The seamless fluidity between the two languages presented no barrier for Chinwo, whose superb effort in singing the language surprised most of her Ghanaian fans. This can be seen in lines like  “Sɛ ɛnyɛ Nyame na ɛwɔ mafa aa, anka ɛnyɛ oo” (meaning “If it had not been the Lord who was on my side”).

The cross-pollination of two of the leading voices in African gospel music makes for a single that draws strongly from both their repertoires of soulful anthems. As one fan tweeted before its release, “When you bring @DiHamilton and Mercy Chinwo together, you know it’s going to be straight fire!”

One beautiful thing about this song ‘The Doing of the Lord’ is Diana still maintains her unique style and sound in serving both local and contemporary gospel music lovers. This has also been noted by social media commentators and music critics.

Aside from this incredible new single and as mentioned above, Diana in February will host her flagship “The Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton” which comes off in both Accra and Kumasi as usual, marking a decade of this experience since its inception in 2014

Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has welcomed her first child with husband Blessed Uzochikwa, coinciding with the arrival of her uplifting new single about God’s faithfulness titled “You Do This One.”

The track is the latest glimpse into her forthcoming album “Overwhelming Victory.” In the vibrant “You Do This One” music video, a visibly pregnant Mercy Chinwo glorifies God through dance and song, proudly displaying her baby bump as her due date drew near.

Lord, we are grateful; we approach Your throne with heartfelt songs of praise and thanksgiving.  You’ve filled our hearts with joy, our lips with testimonies, and our home with celebration.  Indeed ‘YOU DO THIS ONE’ .” – She wrote on Instagram.

The visual’s bright, celebratory mood matches the song’s theme of praising God for blessing her with motherhood and victory in all areas of life. Lines like “No one can do me like you do” express Chinwo’s awe at the Lord’s goodness. Her powerhouse vocals and Nigerian melodies turn the personal testimony into an anthemic, praise-filled worship experience.

This exciting new chapter comes just after Mercy Chinwo’s first wedding anniversary on August 13th, 2022. She and her husband Blessed Uzochikwa have shared beautiful moments from their journey into parenthood and marriage.

Earlier this year, Chinwo made history as the first gospel artist to win a Nigerian Idol competition formatted for young singers. She continues breaking boundaries with her music and life milestones.

As one of Nigeria’s most beloved gospel talents, Mercy Chinwo uses her platform to inspire hope and change. The touching “You Do This One” video shows her using songs to honor her personal blessings while uplifting others through expressing vulnerability and joy.

Now entering motherhood, Mercy Chinwo remains a passionate force using her formidable voice and ministry to transform lives. She embraces this new phase with faith, excitement, and gratitude for God’s overwhelming victory.
