Chayah Gathering Set for Third Edition

The Chayah Gathering, a spiritual event initiated in 2019 by women leaders from various churches under the guidance of Pastor Florence Mugisha, is preparing for its third edition. The term "Chayah," derived from Hebrew, signifies renewal, revival, and progress. The gathering's primary objective is to foster an extraordinary spiritual awakening in the country.

The inaugural event was hosted at CLA Church, while the second took place at Omega Church. This year, the New Life Bible Church will serve as the venue for the gathering. According to Pastor Florence Mugisha, in an interview with inyaRwanda.com, the Chayah Gathering was established to mobilize people from all walks of life to draw closer to God through collective prayer, supplication, and preaching.

Pastor Florence revealed that the vision for Chayah Gathering was placed on her heart by God a decade ago. Initially reluctant, she questioned her ability to lead such a significant movement aimed at national revival. However, she eventually yielded to God's call and launched the initiative.

Explaining the name, Pastor Florence said, "Chayah is a Hebrew word meaning to live again, revival, restoration, live once more. In essence, it's about bringing life where there was none."

This year's gathering has a special focus on reaching out to a large number of youth, both believers and non-believers. The goal is to provide an opportunity for them to encounter God and be transformed by His grace. The event aims to address pressing issues such as severe depression, suicide, addiction, and lack of direction, teaching that lasting solutions can be found in Jesus Christ.

The three-day event is scheduled to run from June 28 to June 30, 2024. On the first day, sessions will begin at 5 PM, while the second day will start at 2 PM. The final day, which will have a particular emphasis on youth, will commence at 5 PM.

Notable speakers for this edition include Pastor Charles Mugisha, Pastor Florence Mugisha, Pastor Christopher Rue, Pastor Dana Rue, Pastor Edmond Kivuye, Dr. Michael Biryabarema, and Pastor Lea Mukabaranga. Worship leaders will feature Chryso Ndasingwa, Fabrice and Maya, and See Muzik.

As the Chayah Gathering enters its third year, organizers hope to continue its mission of spiritual revival and transformation in Rwanda, with a particular emphasis on reaching and impacting the nation's youth.
